CLUB EVENTS

Leland Birthday Dinner, Sunday Feb 11, 3:30 pm, Tacoma Yacht Club.  Again we honored the founder of Cadillac, Henry Martyn Leland, born Feb 16, 1843, by holding a dinner at the Tacoma Yacht Club. Club members who attended enjoyed a good meal and pleasant fellowship. More details about this and the business meeting which was also held in the next issue of the Northwest Standard.

Boeing Tour, Saturday March 24. Don Miholovich suggested this event at our Planning Meeting last fall and will be the event manager. We will have more details to print in our next newsletter (to be published early in March).

April Tour. This event, originally scheduled for the 22nd through the 24th of April, directed by Ron Fielding will have to be replanned since Ron will be unable to manage it at that time because of personal commitments. We need to find a replacement event, not necessarily an overnight one. Suggestions to Prexy Doug Titus and the Northwest Standard can be submitted at any time.

HCCA Tour, Sunday May 6. This popular event, involving a number of different collector car clubs and many varied makes, will again be held and we hope many of our members will be able to participate again.

Bremerton Parade, Saturday May 19, our participation as a Club suggested and to be co-ordinated by Bonnie Chrey. At the Leland dinner meeting, Bonnie handed out forms for members who desired to be in the parade with their cars. This will be a new type of event for the Club and looks like great fun. More details later.

MOHAI - MIHOLOVICH TOUR (2006)

At about 1 pm on Sunday November 19, members of the CLC-PNR began to gather at the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle. In addition to the permanent collection displaying history and various artifacts of the Pacific Northwest (including the famous Toe-Truck), two special displays were there also: Home for the Holidays, a collection of Saturday Evening Post magazine covers showing the art work of Norman Rockwell and also Picturing the Century, a special group of photographs from the National Archives and the Smithsonian Institution taken over a period of a century. Out in the parking lot were a number of members' collector Cadillacs, braving a somewhat blustery day. After their owners had finished their looking at the museum exhibits, drivers and passengers loaded into the cars and drove a scenic route to the home of Ted and Aileen Miholovich on Lake Washington.
In addition to the usual CLC-PNR good eats - thanks to the pot-luck format and the Miholovich hospitality - and great conversation, we also heard the Miholovich's great Duo-Art player piano playing works of Bach and Gershwin, the latter a roll played by Gershwin himself. Club member Steve Cummings also presented a slide show for our entertainment. The weather improved somewhat later in the day making the caravan from MOHAI to the Miholovich home and members' departure afterwards more pleasant. Thanks to Don Miholovich and Joni Reis for planning the event and Ted and Aileen for their hospitality, and to all who came to make it another great event.

were shared in a modified potluck.  Others provided their own picnics.  $27
was donated to go to the Cadillac LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center.
A welcome innovation this year was the porta-pottie, demurely tucked behind
the stage.
Thanks goes to all who helped with registration, tabulation, parking, and
gate-keeping.  Special thanks go to Brad Brotherton for his generous gift
which covered expenses of the trophies.  And thanks to all who came and made
the day so great.
